Ty Curtis is a homegrown favorite who is now based in Austin, Texas. But regardless of geography, Ty's passionate vocals and ripping guitar are still at the core of his music. Blessed with a classic voice and blazing guitar technique, Ty discovered Blues music in his early teens, listening to favorites Stevie Ray Vaughn, Chris Cain, Roy Rodgers, and Malford Milligan among many others. A true student, Ty pursued his music with a passion and "legendary focus" that amazed those around him.

Ty's newest CD, his fifth, due out this summer, will be a more blues oriented CD than his last one. But like all of Ty's CDs, don't expect a bunch of standard blues progressions. Ty wrote all of the songs and his continued growth as a song writer, vocalist and guitarist is exciting to hear. Like his last CD, the new CD was recorded in Austin with musical friends and mentors Jacob Petersen (Steve Miller Band, Harvey Kartel), Brian Ferguson (Aaron Watson, Harvey Kartel, Hudson Moore), Kiko Hanna (Harvey Kartel, Hudson Moore), Jeff Bryant (Alpha Rev, Harvey Kartel) and special guests Dan Farnsworth ( Mingo Fish Trap ) on keys and Glenn Fukunaga on bass (Robert Plant, Dixie Chicks). And playing harmonica is Ty's good friend, Gregg McManus.

Performing his own music with bandmates David Kahl (bass) is mr solid and as reliable as they come and Jerry Jacques provides a tight rhythm.Together they create a groove all their own. (drums, back-up vocals)

No strangers to the big stage Ty Curtis has been privileged to open for Chris Cain, Coco Montoya, The Doobie Brothers, Roy Rogers, George Thorogood, Los Lonely Boys, Paul DeLay, Curtis Salgado, Walter Trout, Big Monti and Lloyd Jones. They have performed at Montreal Jazz Festival, St John Blues Festival, Portland's Water Front Blues Festival, Winthrop Blues Festival, Joseph Bronze & Blues, Rogue Valley Blues Festival, Central Oregon Blues Festival, Blues by the Bay, Red, White & Blues Festival, The Oregon State Fair, Redwood Run and many others.
